ManCans was created in November of 2010 by Hart Main, a 13 year old entrepreneur with a passion for giving back and making a difference. His creation was based on a unique idea that came about when his sister was selling candles for a school fundraiser. He took the idea of making man candles when he thought why aren’t there any candles on the market that men like. To his surprise, this idea became extremely successful very fast and has given him the opportunity to feed so many people.
ManCans are in an actual aluminum can because Hart wanted to be different and have his items stand out. He didn’t want them in glass like most candles are. He wanted something a little more creative and manly.
This brand has been extremely successful and has evolved quickly. Within the first year the website changed twice, the options for payment changed, the label changed, but all in all, the quality of the products has stayed the same.
From year one to year two, ManCans expanded from 7 kitchens in Ohio to 25 in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. This company has started a new branch called SheCans to help kitchens.
Each week, ManCans is expanding and signing contracts to be sold in numerous stores. Going on their sixth year, ManCans has donated over 300,000 meals and is working to continue to grow. Who knew a 13 year old could become a global phenomenon, inspiration to many, and make such a big difference?
