As we continue to highlight companies that are making a difference in a thoughtful way; today we are highlighting the powerful foundation, Love Is Louder.

Love is Louder is a movement created by actress Brittany Snow and associated with The Jed Foundation, a program that promotes emotional health and helps prevent suicide among college and university students. According to Emory University located in Atlanta Georgia, suicide is the second-leading cause of death among people aged 25 to 34 and the third-leading cause of death among people aged 15 to 24.

This movement encompasses all types of people who raise awareness to the fact that love and support are louder than any internal or external voice that brings us down. Individuals, communities, schools, and organizations have incorporated Love is Louder as a way to speak to issues such as bullying, negative self- image, discrimination, loneliness, and depression. Nowadays, as young kids have the ability to use the Internet, cyber-bullying is more prominent than ever. Spreading the word of this movement stops negativity and actions that are hurtful, and strengthens ones ability to cope with hard times, stay positive and connect with others.

With the simple act of writing “Love is Louder” on the hand and posting a picture on social media, people all over the world are getting connected to this powerful movement. Celebrities such as Anna Kendrick, Vanessa Hudgens, Sophia Bush, Lance Bass, Miley Cyrus, Whitney Port, and Pete Wentz, are among some of the celebrities who have shared their support of this movement.

This month is the month of love; love of others and love for yourself. You cannot accept love from someone else if you don’t fully love yourself. Let this month be a month where you can reflect on how powerful loving yourself and others can be and how much happiness it can bring you. It is extremely easy to get caught up in all the happenings in our daily lives that distract us from what really matters. What really matters is love. Love is Louder.
